The interaction between fronts and convective cells in the midlatitudes (C06/Erg.)

本项目将研究中纬度地区大气对流与锋面之间的尺度相互作用过程。利用雷达资料、大气再分析和天气预报模式试验相结合的方法，研究锋面环境对对流生命周期的影响以及对流对锋面演变的反馈。这一经验分析的结果将作为使用多尺度渐近方法开发湿润大气锋面动力学简化理论模型的基础。

This project will investigate scale interaction processes between atmospheric convection and fronts in the midlatitudes. A combination of radar data, atmospheric reanalyses and experiments with a weather prediction model will be used to study the influence of the frontal environment on convective life cycles as well as the feedback of convection on the frontal evolution. The results from this empirical analysis will then be used as a basis for the development of a reduced theoretical model for frontal dynamics in a moist atmosphere using methods of multiscale asymptotics.
