The GATOR2-protein WDR24 is essential for proliferation and survival in acute myeloid leukemia (AML), and it is involved in the regulation of selective autophagy. By combining biochemical, proteomic, and CRISPR/Cas9-based forward genetic approaches, this project aims to elucidate how WDR24 regulates selective autophagy, to characterize the underlying signaling network in AML cells in vitro, and to analyze how the role of WDR24 in autophagy regulation impinges on AML pathophysiology.
