Gender Politics in the Process of Restructuring Familialist Welfare Regime

本研究以比较的视角分析日本家庭主义福利制度的构建过程，探讨性别政治的发展。性别政治不仅指改革国家与家庭关系的政治，也指重新定义家庭和性别关系与规范的政治。通过几个案例研究，本研究发现：新的政治行为者在政策制定过程中的参与：旨在强化熟悉主义政权核心原则的政治力量的存在；政治制度与政治话语之间的关联；以及政权更迭对地方政府政治的影响。

This study explores the development of gender politics by analyzing therestructuring processes of Japan’s familialist welfare regime with a comparativeperspective. Gender politics is a term referring to the politics not only of reforming thestate-family relations but also of redefining ‘family’ and gender relations and norms.Through several case studies, this study found; participation of new political actors inthe policy-making processes: existence of a political force aiming to reinforce the coreprinciples of the familialist regime: correlations between political institutions andpolitical discourses: and influence of the regime change on the politics of localgovernments.
