Impact of depressive symptoms in diabetic patients. Fukuoka Diabetes Registry

据报道，抑郁症常与糖尿病相关。然而，我国尚未开展大规模的流行病学研究。福冈糖尿病登记是一项前瞻性队列研究，由5131名糖尿病患者组成，其中8.9%的参与者有抑郁症状。Hisayama的研究显示，作为非糖尿病对照组，4.0%的居民有抑郁症状。在控制混杂因素后，糖尿病患者出现抑郁症状的优势比为2.6。此外，与无抑郁症状的糖尿病患者相比，有抑郁症状的糖尿病患者有不健康的生活方式，包括饮食和运动，以及肥胖、胰岛素抵抗、血糖控制不良、低血糖和糖尿病并发症。最后，有抑郁症状的糖尿病患者的生存率明显低于无抑郁症状的糖尿病患者。本研究强调抑郁症在糖尿病治疗中的重要性。

Depression has been reported to be frequently associated with diabetes mellitus. However, the large-scale epidemiological studies have not been performed in our country. Fukuoka Diabetes Registry, a prospective cohort study, composing of 5131 diabetic patients showed 8.9% of participants having depressive symptoms. As a nondiabetic controlgroup, the Hisayama study revealed 4.0% of residents with depressive symptoms. After controlling for confounding factors, odds ratio for the presence of depressive symptoms was 2.6 in diabetic patients. Furthermore, diabetic patients with depressive symptoms have unhealthy life style including diet and exercise as well as obesity, insulin resistance, poor glycemic control, hypoglycemia and diabetic complications as compared with those without depressive symptoms. Finally, the survival rate was significantlyworse in diabetic patients with depressive symptoms than those without. The present study emphasizes the importance of depression in treatment of diabetes mellitus.
