为了评价日本北部（秋田）和南部（福冈）男生在夏季和冬季尿液中几种激素的生理差异。秋田地区学生夏季和冬季去甲肾上腺素水平均显著高于福冈地区（p< 0.01）。冬季去甲肾上腺素高于夏季（p< 0.01）。秋田市的皮质醇或17-OHCS在两个季节均高于福冈市。去甲肾上腺素是交感肾上腺髓质轴的指标。皮质醇是下丘脑-垂体-肾上腺（HPA）轴的指标。这些轴被压力源激活，包括环境压力和情绪压力。高去甲肾上腺素和皮质醇在秋田可能有效地适应寒冷暴露。

To evaluate the physiological differences of the male students between northern (Akita) and southern part (Fukuoka) in Japan, we measured several kinds of hormone in urine in summer and winter. Noradrenaline obtained from the students in Akita was significantly higher(p<.01) than that in Fukuoka in both summer and winter. Noradorenaline in winter was higher(p<.01) than that in summer in both areas. Cortisol or 17-OHCS in Akita was also higher than Fukuoka in both seasons. Noradorenaline is an index of sympathetic adrenal medullary (SAM) axis. Cortisol is an index of hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal (HPA) axis. Those axis are activated with the stressor including environmental and emotional stress. Higher Noradorenaline and Cortisol in Akita may be effective to adapt to cold exposure.
