Effects of macrolides on Porphyromonas gingivalis biofolms

研究了大环内酯类抗生素阿奇霉素（AZM）和红霉素（EM）对牙龈卟啉单胞菌（Porphyromonas gingivalis）生物膜的影响，并与其他抗生素进行了比较。在亚最小抑菌浓度下，AZM对两种生物膜的抑制作用均显著高于其他药物。据猜测，该机制影响生物膜中的三维结构或信号传递，但不是杀菌作用，即抗菌作用。结果表明，AZM的抗生物被膜作用是其抗生物被膜作用的主要原因。

The effect of azithromycin (AZM) and erythromycin (EM), which were macrolides, on Porphyromonas gingivalis biofilms produced by both static and flow-cell model was evaluated, and was compared with it against other antibiotics. AZM inhibited significantly both two biofilms in comparison with the other medicines at sub-minimum inhibitory concentration. It was guessed that the mechanism influenced three-dimensional structure or the signal transmission in the biofilm, but not was bactericidal namely an antibacterial action. And it was shown that its effect caused by the anti-biofilm action of AZM.
