Production of hepatocyte growth factor (HGF) and tissue regeneration induced by natural products

肝细胞生长因子(HGF)可刺激包括肝细胞在内的多种组织中上皮细胞的增殖，并在组织再生事件中发挥重要作用。在此，我们发现苦瓜胎盘和冬虫夏草提取物和多粘菌素B促进人成纤维细胞产生肝细胞生长因子，并描述了它们的作用机制和活性成分的性质(S)。大鼠注射多粘菌素B后，血浆和肝脏HGF水平均显著升高。

Hepatocyte growth factor (HGF) has been shown to stimulate the proliferation of epithelial cells in various tissues including hepatocytes and play critical roles in regenerative events of tissues. Here we found that the extracts of bitter melon placenta and Cordyceps sinensis and polymyxin B promoted HGF production in human fibroblasts and described their mechanism and properties of active component(s). Injection of polymyxin B to rats significantly increased both plasma and hepatic HGF levels.
