Linguistic Fieldwork on the Jino language and the Study of Language Contact and Linguistic Typology among the Neighboring Languages

基诺语是一种藏缅语，在中国云南省景洪市使用。它有两种主要方言，即有乐和步远。这个研究项目的负责人（以下简称“负责人”）一直从事有乐方言的基本语法研究，但对有乐方言词汇和语法的详细信息一定有更多的研究。此外，对步远方言也没有详细的研究。在上述研究背景下，该负责人在研究期间先后四次对有乐方言和步远方言进行了语言田野调查。对于酉乐方言，团长对其语法的各个方面进行了梳理（动词连词、从句连词、分格、连词等），并考察了该方言的历史发展。对于步远方言，实地收集的词汇资料约2300项，句子约550句，从而对其音韵和声调发展进行了初步的报道。2008学年末，组长前往泰国北部和老挝，了解藏缅族、台加代族、苗瑶族等民族的基本语言和民族情况。2010学年，该负责人对哈尼族格朗河方言和拉祜族勐海方言进行了语言学研究，这两种方言在地理和基因上都与基诺族语言相近。头部收集了前一种语言约1800个基本词汇，后一种语言约500个词汇。虽然还需要进一步的调查，但对这些语言的初步研究可以作为解决许多实际语言问题的基础。

The Jino language is a Tibeto-Burman language and spoken in Jinghong city of Yunnan Province, China. It has two main dialects, namely Youle and Buyuan. The head of this research project (henceforth 'head') has been engaged in the basic grammar of the Youle dialect, but the detailed information of Youle Jino lexicon and grammar must have been studied more. Besides, the Buyuan dialect had not been studied in detail.In the research background mentioned above, the head conducted linguistic fieldworks on Youle and Buyuan dialect for four times during this research period. As for Youle dialect, the head clarified various aspects of grammar (verb serialization, clause-chaining, case-marking, copular sentence, etc.), and investigated the historical development of this dialect. As for Buyuan dialect, the lexicon data collected in the field amount to about 2,300 items and the sentence to 550, so that the preliminary reports on the phonology and the tonal development were able to be made.In the end of the academic year of 2008, the head traveled through the northern Thailand and Laos to grasp the basic linguistic and ethnological situation of Tibeto-Burman, Tai-Kadai, and Miao-Yao ethnic groups. In the academic year of 2010, the head conducted linguistic research on the Gelanghe dialect of Hani and the Menghai dialect of Lahu, which are geographically and genetically close to the Jino language. The head collected about 1,800 items of basic vocabulary in the former language and about 500 items of vocabulary in the latter language. Although the further investigation should be needed, the preliminary research on these languages can be considered as a basis for solving many areal linguistic problems.
