Descriptive and typological study on the adjective predicate structure in Koryak

本研究以科里亚克语中传统上被称为“性质形容词”的名词-动词连续体为研究对象，对其进行了以下研究。(1)我的目的是细化形容词和动词之间的边界部分的描述。特别是，本研究清楚地展示了名词式性质谓语的N形式和动词式事件谓语的KU形式之间的形态和句法差异。(2)本文指出，N形式在具有亲缘关系的语言中的不同表现形式，特别是在楚科奇语和蒙古语中的不同表现形式，可能与不同语言中动词的屈折系统不同有关。(3)我的目的是把N形式放在类型学的角度。(4)我还研究了几个相关的现象，如反被动，不及物/及物动词交替，名词化。

The present study dealt with the traditionally so-called 'qualitative adjective' in Koryak (N form, for short) and conducted the following studies by viewing it in the continuum from nouns to verbs. (1) I aimed to refine the description on the boundary part between adjectives and verbs. Especially, morphological and syntactic differences between noun-like N forms of property predication and verb-like KU form of event predication were clearly demonstrated by this study. (2) I pointed out that the different manifestation of N form in the genetically related languagese, especially, Chukchi and Alutor, was probably related to the different verb inflectional systems in different languages. (3) I aimed to place N form in the typological perspective. (4) I also examined several related phenomena such as antipassive, intransitive/transitive verb alternation, and nominalization.
