Microscopic investigation of magneto-electric effect by using 40T high magnetic field soft x-ray magnetic circular dichroism

强磁场X射线磁性圆二色谱装置与40T脉冲磁体和软X射线吸收光谱相结合，用于电磁效应潜在微观机制的磁学研究。利用世界上第一台用于多铁系统的新装置，我们成功地观测到了LuFe2O4的二价和三价离子的价比磁化强度，测定了CuFeO2中Fe(III)的自旋磁矩和轨道磁矩，并对TbMnO_3中的Tb和Mn进行了元素比磁化分析。

High magnetic field x-ray magnetic circular dichroism apparatus in conjunction with a 40 T pulse magnet and a soft x-ray absorption spectroscopy has been developed for magnetic investigations of underlying microscopic mechanisms of electromagnetic effects. By applying the world first novel apparatus to multiferroic systems, we succeeded in observations of valence specific magnetizations of di and tri-valence irons of LuFe2O4, determinations of spin and orbital magnetic moments of Fe(III) in CuFeO2 and element specific magnetic analyses of Tb and Mn in TbMnO3.
