Empirical Study on the Life World of Elderly prisoners,and process of their independence after release.

这项研究是关于老年囚犯（65岁以上）的生活世界以及他们在日本和新西兰重新融入社会和重新安置的前景。在这项研究中，我们试图了解这些囚犯的背景（是什么让他们在人生的这个阶段进入监狱，他们如何适应监狱生活，以及他们的未来是什么）。这项调查由635名日本囚犯和62名新西兰囚犯完成。对于调查的主要观点，我们进行了复杂的统计分析（系数和多元分析），绘制了两个轴（[人际关系的优缺点]和[对人与社会的信任]），并组成了4个集群（组）——[稳定](15%)，[独立导向](30%)，[依赖](21%)，[不稳定]（31%）。从我们的调查中得出的结论是，促进老年囚犯自力更生的策略不是统一的，而是不同群体之间的差异。

This study is on the life world of elderly prisoners (aged 65+)and their prospects for reintegration and resettlement both in Japan and New Zealand.In this research we are trying to do the backgrounds of these prisoners(what is it that has led them into prison at this stage of their lives, how they then adapt to prison life, and what the future holds in store for them).The survey was completed by 635 Japan prisoners and 62 NZ prisoners. As for the main points from the survey, we did the complex statistical analysis(coefficient and multiple analysis) to draw the two axis([strength and weakness of human relationship] and [trust on people and society]), and composed the 4 clusters(groups)---[steady](15%),[independent-oriented](30%),[dependent](21%),[unstable](31%).As a conclusion from our survey, the strategy for promoting the self-dependence of elderly prisoners is not uniform, but different among the groups.
