The role of resentment and schadenfreude in participation of bullying as a sanction among elementary and junior high school students.

本研究旨在探讨负性情绪在欺负参与中的作用，以期为预防欺负提供有益的启示。负性情绪包括“怨恨”（对他人持续愤怒）、“嫉妒”（渴望怨恨的感觉）和“幸灾乐祸”（因他人的不幸而产生的快乐）。本研究以小学生和初中生为对象，测量他们在不使用“欺负”一词的情况下强化欺负的经历，以收集具有较高信度和效度的数据。通过假设情境，研究发现，当儿童被要求加入欺凌作为制裁，如果他们有一个怨恨的感觉，对受害者之前的欺凌，他们往往成为肇事者的支持者。但是，如果他们对受害者有一种嫉妒的感觉，他们往往会成为被动的旁观者。

This study aimed to examine the role of negative emotions in participation of bullying to gain useful insight into prevention of bullying. The negative emotions included "resentment", the continuous anger against others; "envy", feeling of resentful longing; and "schadenfreude", pleasure derived by another person's misfortune.The study for elementary and junior high school students was conducted to measure their experiences of reinforcing the bullying without using the word "bullying" to gather data with high reliability and validity. By using hypothetical scenario, it was found that when children were asked to join in bullying as sanction and if they had a feeling of resentment towards a victim prior to bullying, they tended to become supporters of the perpetrators. However, if they had a feeling of envy towards a victim, they tended to become passive observers.
