Urformende Fertigungsverfahren zählen in der Produktionskette zu den energieintensivsten Prozessen, sodass Einsparungen gerade in diesem Bereich dazu beitragen können, wertvolle Energieressourcen zu schonen. Ziel des beantragten Vorhabens ist es daher, eine alternative Fertigungsroute und deren Wirkungsprinzipien zu untersuchen, bei der Späne, welche bei der Bearbeitung von metallischen Werkstoffen anfallen, nicht wie bisher durch Einschmelzen dem Produktionsprozess wieder zugeführt, sondern direkt in einem Strangpressprozess verwertet werden. Aufgrund der guten Umformeigenschaften des Werkstoffes Aluminium ist es geplant, Späne aus unterschiedlichen Aluminiumlegierungen zu erzeugen und dann in einem Strangpressprozess durch Verpressen wieder zu verbinden. Die mechanischen, mikrostrukturellen und technologischen Eigenschaften, wie z.B. Art der Verbindung, die Randbedingungen der Verbundentstehung sowie die anschließende Zerspanbarkeit der hieraus erzeugten Profile, sollen im Rahmen des Projektes analysiert und der Fertigung konventionell gefertigter Profile gegenübergestellt werden. Erste Voruntersuchungen konnten zeigen, dass ein direktes Verpressen von Spänen möglich ist und die erzeugten Profile ähnliche Eigenschaften wie das Ausgangsmaterial aufweisen.
