Developing a Track & Trace Platform for UK Fashion & Textiles

Project innovation will extend a system that is already in use within the garment industry on Cut, Make and Trim (CMT) lines where the final goods are made. The new module will incorporate a secure platform to facilitate tracing of goods from raw material sourcing through to end-of-life reuse/recycling of garments. This 'track & trace' system will include transport of raw materials to the textile manufacturer, shipment of fabric to the garment producer and then shipment to the sales outlet. The system will facilitate recycling of the fabric at end-of-life. Innovation within this project is two-fold, assisting manufacturer & consumer.
