As cloud computing comes of age, we still hear people referring to the popular meme, "someone else's computer". Pundits have tried to debunk this as an oversimplification but for organisations starting out on their cloud journey it still holds true, the cloud is somewhere to put files on a remote system?owned and operated by someone else.Prizsm's innovative multi-cloud distribution approach enables organisations to safely retain data at all levels of security classification by overcoming the "someone else's computer" issue. We spread information sparsely across "several people's computers" so that if data is exposed by one of them, the original information cannot be reconstituted.Security and privacy remain the major obstacle to overcome before bioinformatics and genomics companies fully embrace and adopt the cloud. Organisations in this sector are also concerned about vendor lock-in and the difficulty of moving huge datasets between cloud service providers. Another growing concern is that the advent of quantum computing threatens the viability of current encryption methods.Prizsm's innovative approach to secure data storage addresses these issues and provides a quantum-resistant solution enabling anyone to easily protect and secure information in the public cloud. It can be used to increase the utility, safety, and security of personal health records, bioinformatics, and genomic information while reducing the total cost of ownership and the carbon impacts usually associated with mass data storage confidentiality, integrity, and availability. Our pathfinder genomics customer has expressed an interest in our novel approach to disaggregated cloud storage. We are currently demonstrating our Storage technology to key stakeholders in the business prior to launching this targeted PoC/Pilot project to develop and deliver a 'Store-and-Forward' solution for genomic DNA/RNA sequence data transmission from the edge to the core.
