Satatland LTD, trading as Eslando Circular Fashion is a circular fashion tech company on a mission to accelerate textile recycling. We're revolutionising textile recycling with our digital product passport, making it easier than ever to recycle greater volumes of post-consumer textiles. Our innovative solution connects fashion brands with consumers and textile recyclers to build the most trusted, measurable and impactful relationships through products.Fashion produces 100 billion clothes every year, and less than 1% are recycled into new clothes; Fashion emits 10% of global CO2 emissions. As clothes travel between manufacturers, brands, resellers, and recyclers, the material information is lost. Thus, 85% of textile waste is incinerated or landfilled. The fashion industry currently contributes to 2.7 billion tons or 10% of global carbon emissions. Out of this, 70% (1.89 billion tons) stems from the production of virgin raw materials. Efficient textile recycling has the potential to reduce emissions by up to 80% (1.5 billion tons). The existing sorting process for post-consumer textile waste is plagued by inefficiencies, as sorters struggle to identify the correct recyclers for their feedstock. While various materials demand specialised recycling facilities and technology to recycle most materials exists, there is currently no solution in place to ensure that the right feedstock consistently reaches the appropriate recycler. Our industrial research project will enhance the circular consumer experience & circular supply chain in fashion with a digital product passport. Our unique innovation is coupling technology with circular clothing through a Digital Product Passport to enable data-based sorting.
