National Mouse Genetics Network – Grant award: Directorship Development Phase

The Medical Research Council is investing more than £20m in a new National Mouse Genetics Network to accelerate our understanding of human disease and improve diagnosis and treatments. It will bring together a package of challenge-focussed research clusters distributed across the UK and a long-term partnership with the Mary Lyon Centre at Harwell. This grant award will enable the Director to further develop his vision through engagement with the scientific community. Key opportunities for the new Network will be explored in advance of a call for research cluster proposals in early 2021. The new Network is due to launch in early 2022, with the Director's activities embedded in this award, following selection of the research clusters via competitive peer review.
