My research will contribute to two scholarly fields: First, the study will advance the little knowledge on temporary disenfranchisement and its political consequences. By expanding the focus to immigrants' disenfranchisement, I will investigate the unstudied effects of one of the most common barriers to political participation. Second, my research contributes to political theory.
