Continuous regional oxygen saturation monitoring in prosthetic sockets

The proposed project, starting from the sensors developed by Giardini in [Chianura 2016], aims to develop an array of NIRS sensors embedded in a prosthetic socket, to correlate the sensor output to patient activity through the design and training of an appropriate machine learning system and, if time allows, to perform an initial evaluation of the correlation between microcirculation signal and activity, and tissue viability.Scientific and IP output is expected from the development of the sensing paradigm, from the development of the sensing hardware, from the development of the machine learning inference system and related training dataset, from the pre-clinical work, and from the development of the user interface.
