Public trust and modern science: collectives, communication and technology

科学研究对我们生活的巨大影响（从2019冠状病毒病到气候变化）以及科学与政策之间的密切联系，使公众对科学的（合法）信任变得越来越重要。但是，面对大规模的科学合作和人工智能等变革性技术，目前评估科学研究的方法似乎已经过时，而且与当前的实践不匹配。这篇论文将填补这一空白，提供一些目前缺乏的方法工具，根据现代科学实践来评估科学研究，并探索科学传播和行动方式的含义。

The huge impact of scientific research on our lives (from Covid-19 to climate change) and the close connection between science and policy, make (legitimate) public trust in science increasingly vital. But, faced with vast scientific collaborations and transformative technologies, such as AI, current methods for assessing scientific research seem outdated and mismatched with present practice. This thesis will plug the gap by providing some of the currently lacking methodological tools for assessing scientific research in light of modern scientific practices, and exploring the implications for the way science is communicated and acted upon.
