SACRCOIDOSIS: BIOMARKER AND ACTIVITY

This subproject is one of many research subprojects utilizing the resources provided by a Center grant funded by NIH/NCRR. The subproject and investigator (PI) may have received primary funding from another NIH source, and thus could be represented in other CRISP entries. The institution listed is for the Center, which is not necessarily the institution for the investigator. The purpose is to see in a pilot study of 10 sarcoidosis patients how well biomarker levels in blood and urine studied at monthly intervals correlate with standard clinical indices of "active" disease. Blood samples from 10 healthy controls will also be analyzed once, and in three controls at monthly intervals over 3 months. It is anticipated that, once preliminary data are obtained, that a grant application will be submitted to the NIH, and/or other funding agencies.
