SPARC regulates tendon homeostasis

肌腱损伤是世界范围内最常见的健康问题之一，在某种程度上影响着几乎每个人，特别是老龄化人口。然而，目前的治疗方法并没有得到很好的定义。我们鉴定了一种细胞外分子SPARC，它可能在肌腱功能中发挥重要作用。本研究的目的是利用转基因小鼠和基因治疗来研究SPARC在肌腱发育、归巢和退行性变中的作用。我们预测，SPARC在肌腱病的治疗中将具有治疗价值。

Tendon injury is one of the most common health problems worldwide and affects almost everyone at some point in particular the aging populaiton. However, the current treatments are not well defined. We identifed an extracellular molecules SPARC that potentially plays an important role in tendon function. The aim of this study is to examine the role of SPARC in tendon development, homestasis and degenerative using transgenic mice and gene therapy. We predict that SPARC will have therapeutic value for the treatment of tendinopathy.
