Neuroinformatics for genomics and anatomy

We are developing a bioinformatics research program focused on analysis of the mammalian nervous system at the level of genes and structure, and how this relates to brain development, normal brain function, aging, and pathological processes. In the long term, the continued integration of data both within and between laboratories will be critical to advances in neuroscience, and we see our research as playing an important role in this effort. Applications include improving basic understanding of genes and their roles in brain function in humans and other organisms, as well as the etiology of diseases affecting humans. All of our resources are made available to the public. In addition to the training of undergraduate and graduate students undertaken directly as a result of our research program, we are developing our resources for use in teaching.
