英文摘要
Many of the existing sustainable technologies developed to tackle energy and environmental issues use rare and expensive materials, challenging their commercial success. The proposed Canada Research Chair program aims to remedy this problem by exploiting the currently overlooked disorder in inexpensive materials to enhance their efficiencies, specifically for catalysis and fuel cell applications. The advanced computational techniques will be used to understand disorder in materials, thereby facilitating the unique training of highly qualified personnel, who will consequently begin to grow a computational sustainable energy talent pool, as one cornerstone of a new cleantech sector of Canada.
