Quantitative Dynamic Angiographic Imaging with Computed Tomography

In this project, we will develop an image analysis software to extract quantitative blood flow information from the computed tomography images of the patients who have coronary and aortic diseases. The blood flow assessment is based on two novel image analysis technologies. As these technologies do not require computationally-intensive simulation of fluid dynamics, image analysis can be performed on-site, which facilitates rapid and cost-effective decision-making for patient management. The long-term goal is to implement these image analysis technologies in hospitals for diagnosis and patient treatment planning through commercialization of the software.
