The Canada Research Chair on Electric Energy Conversion and Power Electronics will focus on the development of new topologies and structures of high efficient power electronics converters using wide Band Gap GaN and SiC devices. The research program includes new initiatives in the area of smart DC and smart AC micro grids, Electrification of Transportation, and the power and energy control of intercommoned renewable energy sources. Moreover, enhancement of grid power quality in order to implement the smart grid concepts is the target. The CRC program will build on world class research facilities to train highly qualified professionals.
