Adrenergic urticaria: a new form of stress-induced hives. I Editor i Erythema punctatum Higuchi (EPH), which is characterized by unique small spotted erythema surrounded by an anaemic halo, was first described by Higuchi in the Japanese literature in 1943.1 More than 40 years later, Walter and Dorinda Shelly reported adrenergic urticaria (AU): Stress-induced hives develop as red papules in the centre of blanched halos, 2 whereas it is no longer included in the current urticaria guidelines. 3 Prose et al. reported eruptive pseudoangiomatosis (EP), characterized by acute haemangioma-like lesions that revealed sparse erythematous papules surrounded by a blanched halo. 4 Importantly, all three of these conditions have a similar appearance.[Extracted from the article]
