Let A[2] be the generalized intersection matrix (gim for short) given by the 2-fold affinization of a Cartan matrix of ADE type and its covering matrix. We show that the quantized gim algebra given by A[2] is isomorphic to a right coideal subalgebra of the quantized enveloping algebra associated to , which is a quantum analogue of S. Berman's theorem on involutory subalgebras.
