With this award the Foundation joins with other agencies of the Federal government in supporting the core activities of the Committee on Human Factors of the National Academy of Sciences. The Committee explores in depth the state of knowledge in selected fields judged to be of particular importance to the development of a detailed research agenda for the human factors field. The work of the Committee is conducted in workshops, seminars, and working groups as well as in plenary sessions.
