Third United States/Japan Workshop on Urban Earthquake Hazard Reduction

地震工程研究所（EERI）减少城市地震危害委员会将召开一次美日合作研讨会，介绍目前的研究成果和从最近破坏性地震中吸取的教训；以及由此带来的缓解、准备、应对和重建实践方面的变化。这个讲习班将于1991年11月13日至15日在夏威夷举行。随着国际减少自然灾害十年的开始，这次研讨会将为美国和日本提供一个机会，在早先的合作研究努力的基础上进一步发展，并加强现有的关系。为今后减少地震灾害研究的方案规划提供依据。

The Earthquake Engineering Research Institute (EERI) Committee on Urban Earthquake Hazard Reduction will convene a cooperative United States--Japan workshop to present current research findings and lessons learned from recent damaging earthquakes, and resultant changes in mitigation, preparedness, response, and reconstruction practice. This workshop will be held in Hawaii, November 13- 15, 1991. As the International Decade for Natural Disaster Reduction begins, this workshop will provide an opportunity for the U.S. and Japan to build on earlier collaborative research efforts and to strengthen existing ties. It will provide a basis for future program planning for earthquake hazard reduction research.
