英文摘要
In February 1990, a "U.S. Panel on Structural Control Research" was established under the auspices of the National Science Foundation. The Panel is charged with the following responsibilities: (1) facilitating the transmission of information concerning state-of- the-art developments in the field; (2) identifying and prioritizing needed research and development; (3) developing preliminary plans for analytical and experimental advancement in the field; and (4) developing plans for the performance of full-scale testing and demonstration. Among the accomplishments of the U.S. Panel during the past three years are: (1) Convening of the U.S. National Workshop on Structural Control Research, with 100 Attendees, (2) Establishment and Activities of Seven Panel Working Groups, (3) Collaboration with Japan Structural Control Panel, (4) Assistance with the NSF Structural Control Initiative, (5) Convening the US-Italy-Japan Workshop/Symposium on Structural Control, (6) Organizing Technical Sessions in the Tenth World Conference on Earthquake Engineering, (7) Development of Preliminary Plans for the International Association of Structural Control (IASC), (8) Participation in the US/PRC/Japan Trilateral Workshop on Structural Control, (9) Participation in Numerous International Meetings Concerning Smart Civil Infrastructure Systems, and (10) Information Dissemination. The project provides funding of continuing operations of the Panel over the next five years to implement the work plans of the Panel as detailed in the proposal. The major activities of the Panel include: (1) Operations of the Steering Committee and its Seven Working Groups, (2) Collaboration with International Groups in the Area of Monitoring and Control of Smart Civil Infrastructure Systems, (3) Publications of a Periodic Newsletter, (4) Preparation of a Technical Report on Structural Control Status and Research Needs, (5) Convening the 1993 International Workshop on Structural Control, (6) Establishment of the International Association for Structural Control, (7) Convening the 1994 World Conference on Structural Control, (8) Information Dissemination, and (9) Curriculum Development in the Field of Smart Civil Infrastructure Systems.
