9352981 Farley Virginia Commonwealth University seeks to initiate a 3-week summer commuter, EAI Young Scholars program for 30 students. The Program provides interesting and challenging activities in mathematics and physics for African American students entering grade 7. During the summer students will engage in hands-on laboratory activities and discussion on the physics of robots, and introduced to research methodology activities by university scientists and mathematicians. Academic year follow-up activities include regular mentor contact and group activities through the Richmond Area Mathematics and Science Center.
