9704200 Varekamp This Americas Program award will support travel and related expenses for Dr. Johan Varekamp, Wesleyan University, Connecticut, to travel to Argentina to plan a cooperative research project on the hydrochemistry of Copahues volcano. Nequen, Argentina in collaboration with Dr. A Bermudez and Dr. D. Delpino, Geologic Survey of Neuquen. In preparation for the research, they will inspect a number of sampling/monitoring sites, research the presence and location of gauging systems in the rivers, get acquainted with logistics and weather of the region, and contact local agencies and authorities. ***
