英文摘要
During the last two periods of the project model-theoretical basics were worked out for the breakup of a stretched, viscous, particle laden, laminar liquid jet in the centrifugal field. Additionally the influence of an imposed gas flow was taken into account. Based on a stability analysis, model rules and similarity laws describing jet breakup an droplet size were derived. Experiments for single jets were carried out supporting our mathematical-physical considerations. The aim (of the third period of the project) is to compare and to transfer the model to atomizers with several nozzles and flume flows, respectively. For further validation of the model and to increase the scope of application additional experimental studies for single jets will be realized. Optical methods for the investigation of the three-dimensional jet behaviour provide information about jet path and jet breakup. Moreover they enable the derivation of universal laws concerning droplet size and droplet size distribution as a function of geometrical boundary conditions, material properties and operating conditions.
