Decision Systems International will enhance an Operator Training Simulator for the electric utility industry. Research and development activities entail the development of a PC-based simulator (as opposed to the presently available work station-based simulator) which permits multi-area optimization under classical and competitive conditions, and software enhancements which allow for inter-operability, usability, expandability and ease of maintenance in a control center environment or on a stand-alone basis. The increased availability of these simulators is expected to directly impact the national power grid's security and reliability, while improving economic performance.
