The aim of this proposal is to understand the functions of the cGMP-dependent protein kinase (PKG) in honey bee division of labor. In particular, we want to answer the following questions:milestone 1: what is the relationship between the amount of PKG, PKG activity, gustatory responsiveness, satiation and age-dependent division of labor in honey bees?milestone 2: how is the PKG activated in the brain?milestone 3: which are the cellular targets of PKG phosphorylation?
