In this work, we will develop models for fuel cells and power converters for a parallel grid-connected operation, and study the stability of the system. Furthermore, we will develop control strategy for the parallel operation of distributed generation systems (DGS) in a standalone AC power supply, and control algorithms that will facilitate only low-bandwidth data communication signals between each generation system Furthermore a combined voltage control loop using Perfect Robust Servo-Mechanism and Discrete Time Sliding Mode current controller will be designed for each converter to ensure low THD output voltages. The voltage control loop will be designed to allow a harmonic control droop scheme that ensures proper sharing of harmonic components of load currents. Simulation studies using two parallel three-phase PWM inverters (600 kVA) will be developed to show the effectiveness of the proposed control. The control methods will be implemented at OSU 5 kva experimental test bed.
