The properties of strongly coupled plasmas are of intense interest in the Plasma Physics community, who have developed tools to study such matter theoretically and experimentally, and among physicists studying the quark gluon plasma at RHIC. Despite the fact that one plasma interacts electromagnetically and the other through the strong interaction, there is tremendous commonality in the intellectual approach. This award will help to support a two-day workshop at the RIKEN-BNL Research Center. The goal of this workshop is to establish contact between the two communities and explore possible avenues for collaboration. Participants from three disciplines: Nuclear Physics, Plasma Physics and Atomic Physics will participate and stimulate research in the other disciplines.
