We propose to hold a one and a half day workshop in Ann Arbor during the month of May 2005(exact dates to be determined) to gather together key contributors to the field of activesensing and sensor management. We will discuss the state-of-the-art in active sensingresearch, the main mathematical approaches to design and performance approximation, theproblems solved and the problems remaining. This workshop will be a launching point for amonograph on active sensor management written by the workshop participants.
