Investigation of Near-Wall Behavior of Stratified Turbulence

AbstractOISE-0531143Dr. Junwoo Lim of Carnegie Mellon University will make a planning visit to South Korea to develop an international research collaboration with Professor Changhoon Lee at Yonsei University. The main objective of the collaboration is to investigate the behavior of near-wall structures, particularly turbulent boundary layer flows under stable stratification. The research will employ a parallelized spectral Navier-Stokes code to analyze the nature of flow dynamics (MPI and OpenMP parallel codes will also be introduced in the study). This research is expected to have a positive impact on air pollution and environmental issues at large by helping to create better-designed industrial parts and devices, particularly enhancing energy efficiency and operational safety.
