Curation and Reorganization of the L. H. Bailey and Weigand Herbaria at Cornell University

A grant has been awarded to Cornell University under the direction of Dr. Kevin C. Nixon to acquire new cabinets for the L. H. Bailey and Weigand Herbaria, and to reorganize and move the collection into a newly renovated building. The herbaria contain a large and diverse collection of vascular plants, including a broad representation of species important in agriculture and horticulture. The collections have been used in training of undergraduate and graduate students and by visiting researchers, and these activities will be enhanced by the project. In addition, undergraduates will work on the project and be trained in curation and collection management.
