AST-0545563HughesRelativistic Jets: The Common Physics of AGN, Microquasars and Gamma-Ray BurstsDecember 14th to 17th, 2005, University of Michigan, Ann Arbor.This symposium will bring together researchers involved in elucidating the physics of high-energy flows through analytic, numerical, and laboratory techniques. This meeting emphasizes the fundamental physics associated with understanding flow structures, dynamics, and composition, and highlights the major theoretical challenges common to each astrophysical area. Given recent and anticipated advances in data acquisition, the maturing of plasma astrophysics, and the power of numerical simulation tools coupled with the latest computer clusters, this is both timely and important. The conference will be structured to emphasize the interdisciplinary character of the field, to encourage interactions between experts in different disciplines, to encourage attendance by those beginning to work in these areas, and to provide a proceedings volume of lasting impact.
