The aim of this project is development of recrystallization model for texture and microstructure prediction in commercial Al and Ni alloys. The formation of cube texture in Al sheets and in high temperature super conductors is very much of concern due to strong influence on material properties. The adaptive cellular automat CORe is used for simulation of the recrystallization process. This model was developed during SFB 370 project and allows direct coupling to hardening-, precipitation- and texture models. Thereby, also nucleation processes can be investigated. The focus of this work is the improvement of the cube texture prediction. Special in-situ investigations of the nucleation on cube bands by means of EBSD technique and TEM are essential. Based on experimental results (incubation time, influence of microchemistry, substructure evolution, nucleus number per band etc.) the CORe model should be improved to be able to give the right prediction of recrystallization texture and especially of cube orientation. Experimental investigations should be carried out on commercial Al and Ni-W alloys.
