0624982ChialvoDr. Dante R. Chialvo, Northwestern University, and Dr. Osvaldo Rosso, CONICET and University of Buenos Aires, are organizing a workshop on brain physics, to be held alongside of the XV Conference on Nonequilibrium Statistical Mechanics and Nonlinear Physics, in Mar del Plata, Argentina in December of 2006. This meeting will foster the collaboration between scientists from Latin America and those from the U.S., as they examine recent advances on the theoretical understanding of the brain spatio-temporal patterns as the physical realization of the mind dynamics. Support has been provided to enable students and young researchers to participate in this international gathering, as this program emphasizes the investment in future international scientists. This conference will work to advance discovery in this area by bringing together researchers new to the field, as well as senior researchers who will work together to discuss the present status of the field, challenges ahead, and to design a research agenda that will advance the field.
