Arctic Oceans Science Board FY07 and FY08

AOSB plays in important role in advancing international collaboration in Arctic marineresearch by providing a forum for nation members to exchange ideas and plans and encourage collaboration and resource sharing. A good example is AOSB's role in promoting programs such as the new Integrated Arctic Ocean Observing System(iAOOS) which showed that with a modest level of planning and coordination significant progress could be made in observing the Arctic Ocean in a synoptic manner. The Board has also been successful in promoting interdisciplinary programs in an international framework. To this end, the AOSB Secretariat supports the Board by provided administrative and travel support to the AOSB members and project leaders.
