By developing these missing links, configuration management tools, resource management tools, and management tools for virtual namespaces and networks the work promises to integrate virtualization management capabilities into existing grids. Intellectual merit includes the creation of these missing links in middleware, and will contribute real extensions to existing grid services. Broader impact includes the potential for the work to lead to a new resource provisioning model in grids, and more directly impact TeraGrid, OSG, and other existing grids.
