项目摘要
Rigoberto Hernandez of Georgia Institute of Technology is supported by an award from the Theoretical and Computational Chemistry Program for research which seeks to integrate computational and theoretical tools for the characterization of nonequilibrium colloidal suspensions and liquid crystals. The long term goal of this project is to develop tools that can accurately model the dynamics of molecules and microscopic particles in nonequilibrium solvents. The work is having a broader impact hrough the development of methods to model non-equilibrium systems, which has wide implciations for the understanding of biology and materials science. The work is having a further broader impact through the extensive efforts of the PI in public outreach activities for science as well as programs for the recruitment and mentoring of students from under-represented minority groups into science.
