Cell wall synthesis and cytokinesis in yeast - the role of sensors and cytokinesis regulators in the microcompartment of the bud neck (P03)

Project P3 (Heinisch) concentrates on signal transduction related to yeast cell wall biosyn-thesis and cytokinesis at the yeast bud neck microcompartment. Within the second period, the group will focus on (a) the functional characterization of cell wall sensor protein Wsc1 as a plasma membrane mechanosensor (e.g. by using atomic force microscopy techniques), and (b) the relation between the newly discovered autophagy regulators, cell wall integrity signaling and the bud neck microcompartment.
