The summary of the scientific objective is given on the previous page. One of the most important tasks for co-ordinating the Research Unit will be to arrange the communication between the projects/members at the highest level. In preparation for this proposal we started to put the GIS-based RIFLE databank together and designed ¿ The maintenance of this database and the website is a major aim of the Z proposal. Furthermore, interdisciplinary trans-project communication should be achieved by organizing workshops every 6 months at Kloster Jakobsberg, a monastery near Mainz, and in Frankfurt before the field seasons. Furthermore, all funds for attending conferences/meetings and also those for student workers (HiWi¿s) should reside with the Co-ordinator/Chair of the Research Unit¿ who should make sure that those funds will be used in an organized fashion only for issues which are devoted to the central goals of the Research Unit.
