Fundamental tasks of project Z are the scientific coordination of the research group, esp. in the field of digital networking and evaluation of mythemes of different ancient cultures and the first systematic historical analysis of situative and societal contexts of Mesopotamian myths and mythemes about contacts to the netherworld. Both fields are closely intertwined and they are essential for the comparative and historical work of the research group; therefore project Z serves as the central interface of the whole research group.
